Wow, its been a really busy couple of months for Past Experiences.
We have hosted and organised some great tours and team building events for our corporate clients, facilitated all the tours for the City of Gold Graffiti Festival held in Joburg in April and organised another successful “Sunday Times Reader Event” shopping tour.
We have also not forgotten our local fans and have held numerous budget friendly weekend tours for the public every month. Some of these were old favourites like the Creative Jozi public Art Tour, while we have also added some totally new tours like the Pieter Roos Park Public Art tour, the fantastic Graffiti tours, early morning flower market experience and our Jozi music Tour. We really value our local client base, who are always their to support us, we don’t know what we would do without you! We hope that the large percentage of repeat customers and the number of sold out tours mean we are doing something right! We have also seen an increase in the number of International tourists joining us on tours particularly those from Inbound Tour Operators…lets hope this trend continues!
May was been particularly busy, as we were lucky enough to attend Tourism Indaba in Durban once again with Braamfontein’s Southpoint Team. We met loads of great contacts and really got the Joburg Inner City and its fabulous tourism offering out their onto the International Tourism stage. Due to her Joburg passion and knowledge Company founder and guide Jo was also chosen to be in the new SA Tourism Paris Add campaign.

But it has not all been about business! As many of you know giving back to our community and community involvement are incredibly important to us. Children of the Dawn, a fantastic organisation with a focus on Child headed households contacted us and we jumped at the chance of doing a complementary walking tour with a group of teenagers involved in the programme. What a great group to take around and we got some fab feedback from their leaders. Apparently they talked about the tour and the large buildings and city, late into the night!
As many of you know we have adopted a fantastic orphanage in Soweto called Bethesda and have continued to help out where we can. We organised a party, Easter egg Hunt and whole load of Volunteers on Easter Monday. it was a fantastic day and the kids and staff at the home loved it! Our Facebook followers, customers and friends have been so supportive and generous with their time, clothes, goods and goodies for the kids and I cant thank them enough. We are only a small family business but will do as much as we can and continue to help out as much as we can! If anyone would like to get involved or make a donation, contact us and we will put you in contact with the home.
We will add our new weekend tour schedule towards the end of June and please don’t hesitate to contact us if you are visiting Joburg and looking for a private tour or if you would like to organise a corporate event or group tour through the Inner City!
